Feng Shui Top Tips For Beginnners Article

In my experience a lot of Feng Shui philosophy is based on common sense, good design and maintenance. Sometimes in life we can mislead and blindfold ourselves in our reality of what is around us. Embrace your "Eyes of Truth" and BE honest with yourself during some time of reflexion and have a life review, then take steps to realign your home to reflect how you wish your life to BE. Here are a few ideas to begin your process.

MAKE SPACE FOR SOMETHING NEW TO COME INTO YOUR LIFE

Prepare your space by having a good clear out of all the old, worn out or unwanted items you have around you in your home. Think of the words "LESS IS MORE". Our society leads us to be very prone to hoarding, so make a new rule for yourself: When something new comes in to the home, allow something old to go out. This is an excellent idea for children as they grow up and outgrow their clothes and toys. Encourage them to have a clear out so they can pass these items on to someone else who is not so lucky. Physical objects take up space in your life and can block the way for new opportunities and introductions. A big clear out will create a vacuum effect so continually get rid of any clutter.

MAKE SURE OPPORTUNITIES CAN KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR

Ensure your front door is clearly visible with a good knocker or working doorbell, as your front door reflects how you want to be seen in the world. Don't let it get scruffy as first impressions are very important. Remember, if the postman can't find you, how will any other opportunities? So make sure your entrance is welcoming with good clean paint work and windows, a good number or house name plate and perhaps a ceramic pot of seasonal flowering plants beside the door to welcome energy into your home.

ALLOW ENERGY TO FLOW FREELY

Do not over furnish your home or have awkwardly placed pieces, which block or inhibit the flow of energy. Avoid too many things in too small a space and ensure your choice of decor and furnishings blend well together to create comfort in your home. Your home is a mirror of your life, and if it feels good and clear so will you.

HOLD VITAL ENERGY IN

Energy needs to be able to meander slowly around your home and nourish you, so avoid situations that allow it to move too quickly and leave before it has had chance to do this. Back doors aligned directly with front doors with a long corridor in between summon the energy straight out of the back of the home in a great whoosh. Money will come in to the household but will go out just as quickly. Place ceramic pots of plants down the corridor to break the straightness and hang a wind chime to moderate the fast flow.

HAVE YOU ALREADY GOT WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR?

Our homes are mirrors of our lives and they can often reflect who and where we have been, not who we would like to be in the future or where we would love to go. Our choice of art and ornaments is always a message for our subconscious so look around and see what you may have been unwittingly projecting into your space. Look for symbols that repeat themselves and for recurring themes. If they represent what you have now got and that is what you want - brilliant - if not, change your artwork to reflect your future.

CHECK YOUR HOME FOR NEGATIVE ENERGIES

Our homes and the land we live on are like tape recorders on permanent record. We can look at our language for a clue. There is a phrase "You could cut the atmosphere with a knife" often said after someone has had an argument. This energy will linger unless cleared, and often, repetitive events occur. It can be termed as historical negative energy. Understand the invisible world of vibration is as important, if not more important, than the physical world we see. The earth has an electromagnetic field, which keeps us healthy. When natural radiation from the earth gets distorted it becomes unhealthy for us. If geopathic stress runs through buildings, it is particularly harmful when lines cross our beds or if we often sit on the same chair above them. This can lead to sleepless nights, depression and poor health. Look at the predecessor energy of the building, and gain an insight into the type of experience you may have unwittingly invited upon yourself. Find out what happened to the previous inhabitants and ask yourself if similar events have repeated? Energetically space clearing your home will release the residue of any previous low energy. You can then enjoy a fresh start and bring your home up to a higher vibration. Then incorporate the theories and philosophies of Feng Shui into your life and sow the seeds for your dreams of the future.

MAKE THE KITCHEN A CENTRE OF CALM

This is the most important room in your home and often the hub of family life. Make sure there is a quiet contained area where you can prepare food. There is an invisible ingredient included in our cooking, and this is the energy with which we cook. There is a saying you should never eat food which has been prepared by an angry chef, or you could soon find yourself in a similar temper! If we prepare our food with a quality of calm and love, this will be imbued into the food we eat. Conversely, if our kitchen resembles a fast food take-away, a brisker and less stable energy is transferred into our meals and family life.

USE YOUR INTUITION

Ask yourself if you are happy with your new arrangements. Are they are practical and do they work for you? If not you may need to fine tune your ideas.

LOVE YOUR HOME AND IT WILL LOVE YOU

Think of your home as a living entity, care for it and it will care for you, making you feel supported nourished and more able to deal with the things around you. Remember, you can change your home and by doing so transform your life.
